Baby sleep, without the stopwatch

Short baby naps: read the pattern before fixing it

Reviewed

One short nap is information, not a diagnosis. Look at the full day: how often brief naps happen, what preceded them, total sleep across naps and night, feeding, illness and whether your baby otherwise seems well. Persistent concerns belong with your pediatrician, not an app prediction.

Start with the whole day

Babies vary, and newborn sleep is especially irregular. A single duration hides the surrounding day. Compare several days and note whether the next wake period became shorter, whether bedtime shifted and whether the pattern repeats.

Let the next window move

A short nap may mean the next likely sleep arrives earlier than yesterday. Gaia recalculates from the sleep that actually happened instead of holding the family to a schedule produced that morning.

Keep safety separate from prediction

For every nap, follow safe-sleep guidance: place babies on their backs on a firm, flat surface with soft bedding and toys kept out of the sleep area.

Sources and safety

This guide is general information, not medical advice. Always use current safe-sleep guidance and contact a qualified clinician when you are worried about your baby.

$GAIA — the ticker

The free tracker is
paid for by the token.

Gaia stays free: every tracker, every chart, every caregiver, on every device, with no subscription and no paid tier. $GAIA is how the rest of it gets paid for. It launches on Solana — coming soon.

It keeps the free tier free

Nap predictions, the importer and the sync that holds one family log together all run on servers we pay for every month. The token treasury covers that bill, so what you use today never turns into a subscription.

You buy the extras with it

When Gaia sells something on top — a longer history, more caregiver seats, the Android build — it is a one-off purchase paid in $GAIA. Buy with our token: no card on file, nothing recurring, and never a fee for what you already have.

Holders decide what ships next

Holder wallets get the Android and MCP builds first, and vote on what the next release adds. The exact holder mechanics are provisional until launch day.
