Baby night wakings: make the handoff easier

Reviewed

Night waking is common, especially early on. The useful question in the morning is not whether the night matched an ideal—it is what happened, when, and who handled it. A shared record makes that visible without turning normal waking into a failure score.

What is normal

The American Academy of Pediatrics notes that newborns commonly wake every one or two hours and need to eat at night. Sleep patterns change as babies grow, and different babies have different needs.

Record only what helps

A sleep start and end, feed, diaper and brief note are usually enough. Avoid creating a second job made of perfect logging. The morning pattern should reduce questions, not produce more of them.

One log for the night shift

Gaia gives each caregiver a separate account but keeps one live family timeline. Entries say who logged them, and a running sleep or feed timer is visible to the next person taking over.

Sources and safety

This guide is general information, not medical advice. Always use current safe-sleep guidance and contact a qualified clinician when you are worried about your baby.

$GAIA — the ticker

The free tracker is
paid for by the token.

Gaia stays free: every tracker, every chart, every caregiver, on every device, with no subscription and no paid tier. $GAIA is how the rest of it gets paid for. It launches on Solana — coming soon.

It keeps the free tier free

Nap predictions, the importer and the sync that holds one family log together all run on servers we pay for every month. The token treasury covers that bill, so what you use today never turns into a subscription.

You buy the extras with it

When Gaia sells something on top — a longer history, more caregiver seats, the Android build — it is a one-off purchase paid in $GAIA. Buy with our token: no card on file, nothing recurring, and never a fee for what you already have.

Holders decide what ships next

Holder wallets get the Android and MCP builds first, and vote on what the next release adds. The exact holder mechanics are provisional until launch day.

Nothing here is an offer to sell, and there is nothing to send: no claim form, no presale, no wallet to connect. Nobody from Gaia messages first, and no one from the team will ever ask you to send funds to buy.
