What “free” should mean in a baby tracker app

Reviewed

A genuinely useful free baby tracker should keep everyday logging, the shared family record and access to your history working without a countdown. “Free download” is not enough if the feature your family relies on disappears after the trial.

Look beyond the download button

Baby trackers use several different price models: entirely free, free core with a subscription, a time-limited trial, or free logging with one-time upgrades. None is automatically wrong. The important question is which boundary crosses the job you use every day.

Before committing months of history, check the current store listing and answer: does free include a second caregiver, the full timeline, editing, reminders, useful trends, growth and export?

The free-feature checklist

How Gaia is priced

Gaia is free and currently has no subscription or premium tier. The shared family timeline, separate caregiver accounts, history, trends, recent-rhythm nap range, WHO growth charts and CSV importing are included. Anything Gaia sells on top of that is bought with $GAIA, our token, not with a card.

That does not make it the automatic winner. Pebbi may fit a mixed iPhone-and-Android household better; ParentLove offers one-time upgrades; Huckleberry and Napper provide deeper paid sleep products. Compare the current boundaries in the baby tracker comparison hub.

Questions parents ask

Is Gaia really free?

Yes. Gaia currently has no subscription or premium tier. Its shared log, trends, growth charts and recent-rhythm nap window are included.

Does a free baby tracker keep my old entries?

It depends on the app. Check whether full history stays visible after a trial or cancellation, and test the export before you depend on it.

Are paid baby trackers better?

Not automatically. Paid products may justify their price with deeper sleep guidance, Android or web access, reports or larger households. Choose based on the feature your family genuinely needs.

$GAIA — the ticker

The free tracker is
paid for by the token.

Gaia stays free: every tracker, every chart, every caregiver, on every device, with no subscription and no paid tier. $GAIA is how the rest of it gets paid for. It launches on Solana — coming soon.

It keeps the free tier free

Nap predictions, the importer and the sync that holds one family log together all run on servers we pay for every month. The token treasury covers that bill, so what you use today never turns into a subscription.

You buy the extras with it

When Gaia sells something on top — a longer history, more caregiver seats, the Android build — it is a one-off purchase paid in $GAIA. Buy with our token: no card on file, nothing recurring, and never a fee for what you already have.

Holders decide what ships next

Holder wallets get the Android and MCP builds first, and vote on what the next release adds. The exact holder mechanics are provisional until launch day.

Nothing here is an offer to sell, and there is nothing to send: no claim form, no presale, no wallet to connect. Nobody from Gaia messages first, and no one from the team will ever ask you to send funds to buy.
